Match Report – 2nd Match: Botanical Gardens Rangers vs Dark View Explorers

May 15, 2021

Explorers won the toss and chose to bat first. Rangers had the first say as Kimali Williams had Greaves caught behind in the first over. Romano Pierre then went on the charge, pulling away two short loose deliveries for maximums. Pierre scored 46 from 24 deliveries, striking 2 fours and 4 sixes. The other batsmen found life difficult on the surface, as no one else managed to score more than a run a ball. Explorers found their way to 83/5 from their 10 overs, a quite competitive total on the surface being used.

Rangers simply put, were horrible with the bat, delivering the worst batting performance seen in VPL, being bundled out for 26 in 6.4 overs. Rash batting decisions and poor running between the wicket ultimately led to their demise.

Dark View Explorers 83/5 (10 overs)
Botanical Gardens Rangers 26 all out (6.4 overs)
